Throughout its history, the Orpheum has hosted an array of iconic performers, including Al Jolson, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Bing Crosby. Originally a vaudeville venue, it transitioned to a movie house in 1929, premiering films like Gone with the Wind in 1940. Despite facing closure in the 1970s, dedicated community efforts led to its restoration, and today, it thrives as a nonprofit performing arts center, offering over 100 events annually.
